Lucas Papaw - the ancient ointment remedies

Lucas' Papaw is a brand of ointment / skincare that is likely one you have seen or heard of in the past.Lucas Papaw is an old brand of natural ointments that are made from natural products. Looking at the company history on the Lucas Papaw website, the company has over a 100 years of history, which is quite fascinating. It started with in 1906  when a certain Dr Lucas, a medical practitioner in Australia, realised through research that Pawpaw was a fine natural medicine that was not really used much around the world at that stage.

Now you may ask, what exactly is Pawpaw and is is Pawpaw or Papaw?  Pawpaw itself is a small deciduous tree native to the eastern United States and Canada, producing a large, yellowish-green to brown fruit. There are several ways to spell it, so we will just go with how Dr Lucas has spelt it, Papaw. What Dr Lucas did was he made an ointment out of this papaw fruit and started to use it to treat numerous types of illnesses and disease.

Dr Lucas got so passionate about his ointment, he opened a special Hospital called Vera in Brisbane, Australia. The hospital recorded a lot of interesting results of cases where people were cured of a lot of illnesses and disease. Slowly people around Australia and the world saw the benefits of his ointment and Dr Lucas because reasonably famous. After his death, his family continued with his formula of the ointment, eventually patented it and thus the Lucas Papaw company was born.

The Lucas papaw ointment ingredients

The Lucas Papaw ointments are made with fresh Carica Papaya fruits that are fermented under controlled conditions at the Lucas Papaw factory in Brisbane Australia. Once the fruit is fermented to just the right level they can use it to make the ointment. The base used for the Lucas Papaw ointments is a pharmaceutical grade base that is tested and screened for the level of total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Penreco USP grade Petrolatums are not mutagenic or toxic to reproduction.
